EXPULSION OF ISRAEL FROM THE UN
Mr. António Manuel de Oliveira Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, Heads of State and diplomatic missions present at the General Assembly. Member States of the United Nations Security Council.
To the people of Chile and the other peoples of the international community, to all members and institutions of civil societies belonging to each of the nations represented at said General Assembly.
WITH OUR HIGHEST CONSIDERATION
We, the undersigned, respectfully but firmly address you to demand that, in accordance with Article 6 of Chapter II of the Charter of the United Nations, formal procedures be initiated so that the United Nations General Assembly and the Security Council resolve to expel the State of Israel from the UN for repeatedly violating the principles contained therein.
Through various means and spokespeople, the State of Israel has made it known to the world that it is determined to make the State of Palestine disappear, along with all its population, infrastructure, and memory. Meanwhile, it accuses anyone who denounces its actions of “antisemitism,” even going so far as to repress Israeli Jewish citizens who oppose this genocide, also violating their civil rights.
It is clear that the Israeli government not only kills the Palestinian people with bombs and missiles; it not only destroys vital hospital infrastructure to care for survivors, but is also starving and depriving nearly two million people trapped in the narrow Gaza Strip of water, food, and medicine, constituting another war crime. They have not only taken away their water, bread, medicines, and electricity, but have also contaminated the civilian population’s bodies with toxins and poisoned their land, rendering it infertile.
We will not repeat here the list of atrocities committed by Israel since October 8 against Gaza and the West Bank. Nor will we recall all the abuses that Israel has committed over more than seven decades. The list is long, and this is not the place to denounce something that UN rapporteurs themselves have documented since the unilateral and unjust creation of the new and recent State of Israel, up to the present day. We will only say that, for all these reasons, it is inexplicable, unjustifiable, and unacceptable for the International Community, including its universities, to maintain institutional, commercial, and academic ties with an openly genocidal regime. It is shameful for this set of institutions that this letter is even necessary.
Therefore, we request that the member countries of the UN Security Council, as well as Heads of State, senior authorities, and directors of all academic and university institutions, proceed with the immediate expulsion of Israel from any diplomatic, academic, sporting, or cultural international event to which it has been invited, as well as the termination of any existing institutional link with said State. We recognize that the situation faced by the Palestinian people is urgent, and therefore it is also urgent and necessary to establish a boycott on arms and the business of death that enables their extermination, before it is too late. We demand consequences for the criminal actions of a genocidal and child-murdering State such as Israel, which has absolutely ignored all the resolutions that the UN General Assembly has issued condemning the occupation of Palestinian territory. If we do not stop today’s genocide, we will not be able to stop tomorrow’s genocides.
For this reason, today we are certain of one thing: with Gaza, humanity also dies. We want Palestine to live, the heart of the world.
